Broker Studies
Study of the Mortgage Brokerage Business and Industry
The Study examines seven aspects of brokerages business:
- Mortgage brokerage demographics
- Production volume
- Use of technology and the internet
- Products sold
- Profitability and pricing
- Customers
- Wholesale lender preferences
The deliverable consists of a report of results, analysis and a roster of brokerage firms nationwide, and the raw data (file structured) from the two surveys completed for the Study. The roster, data and report are delivered on a CD. The paper copy of the Mortgage Brokers 2006 totaled nearly 300 pages, including the tables but net of the roster and raw data.
Mortgage Brokers 2008 will be Access Mortgage Research’s ninth major examination of the brokerage business and industry since 1991. The Study will extend and update the prior study by collecting, compiling and analyzing business and industry data, using statistically valid measurement techniques. We believe that no one else looking at brokers does this, and it’s all-important for decision making. Our goal will again be to complete at least 2,000 individual surveys of brokerage owners from which to examine the five areas cited.
The Study, which will begin in 2009 is anticipated to be completed in August of 2009. By signing up early sponsors were able to participate in the development of the new questionnaire. Progress reports are sent monthly to the point persons at each of the sponsoring firms.
Following publication, Access Mortgage Research will conduct follow-up conference calls with all Sponsors to help ensure that they get the most from their investment.
